Andhra Pradesh Accident: Seven women were killed in a collision between an autorickshaw and a bus in Andhra Pradesh’s Kakinada district on Sunday afternoon (May 14). Police said that the women were traveling in the auto. Police said the accident took place around 3.30 pm when a speeding private bus coming from the opposite direction on the highway hit the auto rickshaw near Tallarevu bypass road. The bus was going towards Yanam.
The police took the bus driver into custody while the auto rickshaw driver had a narrow escape. Police said that out of 14 women traveling in the auto rickshaw, six died on the spot while another succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The auto rickshaw had a maximum seating capacity of seven people, but it was carrying more people than that.

According to the police, all the dead have been identified as laborers working in a nearby prawn farm. Seven people were seriously injured in the accident and were admitted to the government hospital in Kakinada where they are being treated.
Korangi police have registered a case and investigation is on.
