BTech girl student stabbed multiple times, accused injured himself too

Karnataka Girl Student Murder: In Bengaluru, Karnataka, a man attempted suicide after killing a girl student on Monday (January 2). Bengaluru Police said that a 19-year-old B.Tech student was allegedly stabbed several times by her friend at a private university on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Monday. He said that the accused also tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself.

The victim girl student identified as Laya Smitha was rushed to the hospital where she was declared dead while the accused was identified as Pawan Kalyan. The one who has suffered chest injuries is being treated in the hospital. It is suspected that there was a fight between the young man and the girl regarding the love affair.

The incident took place in the university where the victim studied while the accused is said to be a BCA student from another college. Police said that both are said to be residents of a village in Mulbagal taluk of Kolar district. Seeing both of them covered in blood, other students informed the college authorities and security staff. After which an ambulance was called and both were taken to the hospital.

Police (Bengaluru Police) said that immediately after the murder, the accused youth also attacked himself with the same weapon with the intention of ending his life. They have not yet been able to find out the motive or reason for the murder. A case has been registered and investigation is on. There is an atmosphere of panic among the students of the college where this incident took place.
