Now Bharatiya Janata Party has lodged a complaint with Delhi Police. BJP Minority Morcha President Jamal Siddiqui has filed a complaint against Maulana Sajjad Nomani in Tughlaq Road police station. A complaint has been lodged with the police to register a case against issuing the fatwa.
Maulana Sajjad Nomani had decided to support 269 candidates of Mahavikas Aghadi during the elections. In a press conference, Nomani had said that considering the current situation of the country, the 2024 assembly elections are very important. Its impact will not be at the state but at the country level. This decision has been taken after conducting a survey and discussing with leaders, educationists, experts, social workers and different sections of society in Maharashtra and to protect the Constitution.
Nomani had said that 169 candidates are Maratha, 40 Other Backward OBC/Other Society, 53 Dalit and Other Backward, 23 Muslim candidates who will get support.
