BJP candidates met the Governor and claimed violence in Panchayat elections, what did TMC say

West Bengal Panchayat Elections 2023: Panchayat elections are to be held soon in West Bengal. Political agitation has intensified regarding this. On Monday (June 19), the election candidates led by the state BJP president met Governor CV Anand Bose and claimed violence during the filing of nomination papers.

According to news agency PTI, BJP leaders have also demanded the Governor to ensure security on the day of election on July 8. On the other hand, TMC, in its own defence, has termed it as a ‘drama’ created by the BJP to malign its image and has accused the Raj Bhavan of complicity.

BJP’s allegation

The BJP claims that at least five people were killed and several injured in several parts of the state amid widespread violence over the filing of nominations for the July 8 elections. BJP state president Sukant Mazumdar reached the Raj Bhavan with this complaint and alleged that he was receiving threats from the day he filed his nomination.

TMC’s allegation

At the same time, the statement of TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh also came out in this whole matter. He said, “The governor should behave impartially. Has the governor thought of meeting the family members of TMC workers who were killed by goons of the opposition parties? BJP is trying to defame the state and the governor is doing their part.” Helping in the efforts.

The matter reached the Supreme Court

The matter of alleged violence before the elections has now reached the Supreme Court. There will be a hearing on this matter on June 20. Petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of the State Election Commission and Mamta Banerjee government. Both the petitions will be heard together in the Supreme Court.
