Big success of Shahdara Police, 555 stolen mobile phones recovered under ‘Operation Vishwas’


Delhi Police Recovered Stolen Mobile Phone: Shahdara district police of Delhi have achieved major success under ‘Operation Vishwas’ and recovered 555 stolen, snatched and lost mobile phones. According to the police, the estimated value of these mobile phones is around Rs 2 crore. This operation was started by the police on 1 April 2024. The purpose of which was to track and recover the stolen mobile phones and put the criminals behind the bars.

The technical surveillance team of Shahdara District Police played the most important role. ASI Deepak Kumar and his team tracked the mobile phone activity through IMEI number and call detail record (CDR). Help of government CEIR portal was also taken, from which 150 mobile phones were recovered.

Special teams were sent to different states
After this, 14 special teams of Shahdara District Police were sent to different states, which include Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Jammu and Kashmir. These teams together recovered 555 mobile phones.

DCP (Shahdara) Prashant Priya Gautam said, “The team consisted of two squads – one for the backend tracking operation and the other to conduct raids in remote areas in Bihar, eastern UP and other states, where the stolen phones were found. Acting on inputs received from backend teams, the police reached the location and recovered the phones.”

Police gave this information
ASI Deepak Kumar of the technical team said, “We had to face many challenges during the operation. During the raid in Bahraich, UP, a suspect ran away from his house and went into the fields. Our team spent about 5 minutes in the fields before catching him. Chased him for kilometers and recovered the mobile phone and later produced him in the court. “In another case, a criminal’s family created a ruckus during recovery from a remote village in Bihar, but with the help of the village sarpanch, the team managed to recover the mobile phone and arrest the accused,” Kumar said.
