Delhi Waqf Board: Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Saturday (April 27) gave a big relief to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan. Amanatullah, accused in the money laundering case related to Delhi Waqf Board, has got bail on a personal bond of Rs 15,000. A complaint was made to the court regarding the AAP MLA not appearing on the summons of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), after which he came to appear on the summons issued by the court.
During the hearing, the court granted bail to Amanatullah. The next hearing on this matter related to money laundering in the court is going to be held on May 9. Amanatullah Khan is an MLA from Okhla assembly seat of Delhi. In the assembly elections held in 2015 and 2020, Amanatullah won the election from Okhla seat. He often remains in controversies. Amanatullah, born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, is always the target of his opponents because of his statements.
ED interrogated for 13 hours
At the same time, last week the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had interrogated Amanatullah Khan for about 13 hours. ED answered questions in the money laundering case related to irregularities in Delhi Waqf Board during his chairmanship. Amanatullah reached the ED office at 11 am on April 18 and got his statement recorded. At the same time, when Amanatullah had reached the ED office for questioning and senior AAP leaders like Sanjay Singh had claimed that he had been arrested.
What did Amanatullah say after interrogation?
However, while talking to news agency PTI, officials of the investigating agency had said that Amanatullah Khan was allowed to go after about 13 hours of interrogation. According to news agency ANI, after coming out of the ED office, Amanatullah himself said, “I was called for questioning by the ED. The Supreme Court had also directed me to appear, so I came here at 11 in the morning. I Questions were asked and my statements were recorded. Now I am leaving.”
