IPL 2025 Mega Auction: IPL 2025 mega auction is to be held on 24-25 November, for which 574 players from India and abroad have been shortlisted. Famous players like Jos Buttler, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Glenn Maxwell and Shreyas Iyer are going to come in the auction. On one hand, there are speculations that some selected players like Pant and Butler may be sold at the highest price in the auction. But there are some players whose name is very high in the cricket world but maybe they will not get much money in the auction?

Piyush Chawla – In the last 2 seasons, Piyush Chawla has taken 35 wickets in 27 matches for Mumbai Indians. MI had given him Rs 50 lakh to play the last season. But in this era of new and young bowlers, Piyush’s name has got lost somewhere. Even though he has taken 192 wickets in the history of IPL, Piyush can be sold cheaply in the mega auction and also he would be in danger of going unsold.

Ajinkya Rahane – Ajinkya Rahane is known for playing one Test and at a slow strike rate. In 2023, he joined Chennai Super Kings, where he batted at a strike rate of 172.49, but he disappointed in 2024. He got Rs 50 lakh for playing last season, but the franchise will also keep in mind that his overall strike rate in the IPL is less than 124. In such a situation, very low bids may be placed on them.

Kane Williamson – Kane Williamson may also get a lower bid for playing with a slow strike rate like Ajinkya Rahane. Williamson was a part of Gujarat Titans last season and got Rs 2 crore for playing the season. Williamson has scored only 111 runs in 6 matches for New Zealand in 2024. This poor form and lack of good strike rate could also be a reason for low bidding on Williamson.

Vijay Shankar – Vijay Shankar has been playing for Gujarat Titans for the last three seasons. In 2024, he scored only 83 runs in seven matches and was not able to contribute in bowling. His first-class career statistics are quite good, hence he is considered a good player in the longer format. In this era of impact players, the bidding for fast bowling all-rounder Vijay Shankar may also be affected.

Ishant Sharma – Ishant Sharma has kept his base price for the mega auction at Rs 75 crore. Ishant was playing for Delhi Capitals since 2019, but this time he has been released. He has not performed much in the last two seasons and did not even get the opportunity to play all the matches in the season. There are very few chances that this time the bid on them will go into crores.
