West Bengal Panchayat Elections: Voting for the Panchayat elections is to be held in West Bengal on July 8. Prior to this, the ruling party in the state is locked between TMC and Governor CV Anand Bose. Now the governor has constituted a peace committee for social unity.
The Raj Bhavan issued a statement saying, “Governor CV Anand Bose constituted a peace and social integration committee headed by former Calcutta High Court Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee. consented.”
There will be a survey on the danger of violence
In a statement from the Raj Bhavan, it was said that the committee will conduct a survey regarding the danger of violence in the society. Let us tell you that till now 13 people have died due to violence in the state. Even now sporadic incidents are being seen in many places.
SEC was called by the governor to meet
Governor CV Anand Bose also sent a sealed envelope to Sinha after State Election Commissioner (SEC) Rajeev Sinha did not turn up at the Raj Bhavan to meet him. An official told news agency PTI on Wednesday that Sinha had argued that he was very busy with election-related work and would not be able to come to the Raj Bhavan to meet the governor.

Bose then sent a sealed cover to the SEC containing the sensitive papers. He did not give any information about the subject of the documents.
Governor had visited violence affected areas
The governor had visited the violence-affected areas of Canning, Bhangar and Basanti in South 24 Parganas district and Dinhata and Sitai in the northern part of the state. Three-tier panchayat elections will be held in the state on July 8. About 5.67 crore people will be able to exercise their franchise in these elections.
