Maharashtra Elections 2024: Assembly elections are to be held in Maharashtra by the end of the year. It is expected that after the elections in Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana, the Election Commission may announce elections in the state. Before this, the Mahayuti government of the state has done something that can change the entire game of Maharashtra.
In fact, Maharashtra’s Eknath Shinde The government on Monday (September 23) approved the formation of two separate corporations for the economically weaker sections of Brahmin and Rajput castes. ‘Parshuram Economic Development Corporation’ is to be formed for Brahmin castes and ‘Veer Shiromani Maharana Pratap Economic Development Corporation’ for the Rajput community. The cabinet has allocated Rs 50 crore each to both the corporations.
Mahayuti’s eyes on Brahmin and Rajput voters
The move aims to address the financial challenges faced by the weaker sections of both communities. Both the corporations will provide financial assistance in skill development and self-employment opportunities to individuals from weaker sections of Brahmin and Rajput communities. After this move of the government, it is believed that the BJP-led alliance may benefit in the elections.
Pune airport’s name also changed
Apart from this, Pune airport will be renamed as Jagadguru Sant Tukaram Maharaj International Airport and the Maharashtra cabinet has approved the proposal. It is worth noting here that the proposal to rename Pune airport was put forward by Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol, who is from Pune.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had also supported the name change, saying he would ensure the proposal gets the Centre’s support. Last month, Mohol had submitted a proposal to name the airport after Sant Tukaram Maharaj to Chief Minister Shinde.
Ajinkya Rahane got the land lease
The Cabinet also approved leasing of 2,000 square metres of land in Mumbai’s Bandra area to cricketer Ajinkya Rahane to develop a sports complex.
