Indian Cricketers Salary List: Cricket is the second most popular sport in the world, so there is a lot of money here too. BCCI is the richest cricket board in the world, hence the income from cricket in India is also slightly higher than other countries. Players like Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Rohit Sharma earn crores of rupees in a year, but all of them are batsmen. In such a situation, a question often arises in the minds of people whether the salary of batsmen and bowlers is the same or do they get different types of salaries?
Do batsmen and bowling get the same salary or not? The answer to this question may be yes or no, how can this be so? In fact, if we take BCCI as an example, it pays salaries to its players according to the grade, now batsmen and bowlers can also come in that grade. Therefore, it is true that bowlers and batsmen can get the same salary. But this also proves to be false when the salaries of batsmen and bowlers in different grades are different.
When BCCI released the list of central contracts in February 2024, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah were kept in A+ grade, under which they get Rs 7 crore annually. This list is proof that batsmen, bowlers and all-rounders can also get equal salary. Whereas now retired Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya were kept in A grade. Players who come under this grace get Rs 5 crore as salary annually. Similarly, B grade athletes get Rs 3 crore annually and C grade players get Rs 1 crore annually as salary.
If we look at all this together, while Jasprit Bumrah earns Rs 7 crore in a year, Mohammad Siraj earns only Rs 5 crore and Kuldeep Yadav earns only Rs 3 crore in a year. If we look at similar batsmen, the annual income of Virat and Rohit is Rs 7 crore. Whereas KL Rahul and Shubhman Gill get Rs 5 crore and Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant get Rs 3 crore annually.
