Bank Holidays in April 2023: The new financial year 2024 is starting from 1 April. In such a situation, many changes are also taking place. Apart from this, like every month, banks are also going to have holidays this month. During the first month of the financial year 2024, there will be a holiday of about 15 days. If you are going to do any bank related work next month, then you should see the list of holidays.
There will be a total of 15 days off in April along with Saturdays and Sundays. During this month, Mahavir Jayanti, Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday, Good Friday, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, Sankranti or Biju Festival or Bisu Festival, Tamil New Year’s Day, Vishu or Bohag Bihu or Himachal Day, Shab-l-Kadra, Eid- Banks will remain closed on the occasion of Ul-Fitr.
When and where will banks be closed
- Banks are closed in all states except Mizoram, Chandigarh, Meghalaya and Himachal Pradesh at the end of the financial year on Saturday, April 1.
- Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Lucknow, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand on Tuesday, April 4, due to Mahavir Jayanti.
- Banks will remain closed in Hyderabad on 5th April due to the birthday of Babu Jagjivan Ram.
- Banks are closed in most of the states except Tripura, Gujarat, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Srinagar on Friday, 7th April due to Good Friday.
- Friday the 14th is Baba Ambedrak’s birth anniversary, due to which banks are closed in most places except Mizoram, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Mehlaya, Himachal Pradesh.
- There will be a holiday in Himachal Pradesh on the day of Himachal Day on Saturday, 15th April. Apart from this, banks are also closed in Tripura, Kerala and Assam on the day of Bengali New Year.
- Banks will remain closed in Srinagar on Tuesday, April 18, due to Shab-l-Qadr.
- Banks are closed in Tripura, Jammu and Srinagar, Kerala on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on Friday, 21 April.
- Banks are closed due to the fourth Saturday on the day of Ramzan Eid on Saturday, 22 April.

The month of April is 30. In such a situation, there are 15 days holidays, out of which 5 Sundays and two Saturdays are going to be holidays. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 are going to be Sundays. On the other hand, the second and fourth Saturdays are going to be on 15th April and 22nd April.
