Assam STF Arrested 8 Terrorists: Assam STF has foiled a big conspiracy of Bangladesh. A sleeper cell targeting Hindu organizations and people associated with RSS on a large scale has been busted. In this, eight people have been arrested from Kerala, out of which one is also a Bangladeshi citizen. It is being said that the captured Bangladeshi citizen has links with Al Qaeda.
STF also said in its statement that this terrorist had entered India from Bangladesh to activate the sleeper cell network in West Bengal and Assam, but Assam STF foiled his plot. The name of this operation is ‘Praghat’, in which West Bengal Police and Kerala Police were jointly carrying out the operation along with Assam STF.
STF also said that they are working on a special mission in collaboration with West Bengal Police and Kerala Police. If sources are to be believed, Operation Praghat has been started all over India. The group of terrorists working with Mohammad Farhan Israk, an associate of a Bangladeshi leader linked to al-Qaeda, was attempting to activate sleeper cells in India to target other Hindu organizations and members of the RSS. One of the 8 terrorists arrested from Kerala was a Bangladeshi, who has been identified as Mohammad Saad Radi alias Mohammad Shab Shaikh.
‘A big action against Jihadi elements’
According to STF, Israq is very close to Jasimuddin Rahmani, who is the head of the banned terrorist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team. This group has relations with Al Qaeda. Assam DGP Harmeet Singh has said on this matter that this is a big action against Jihadi elements. They can be eliminated with the help of central agencies and Bengal and Kerala Police. He said that he will consider it successful only when he gets more help, but he has made a start. Harmeet Singh says whatever is happening in Bangladesh and western neighboring countries. Due to this, the chances of such terrorist conspiracy in India increase.
Raids at many places in Assam, Kerala and West Bengal
STF says that Mohammad Saad Radi had met the sleeper cells of Assam and Ansarullah Bangla team, after which he reached the southern state of Kerala to contact more people. According to STF, IPS officer Partha Sarathi Mahant has headed several teams across the country to arrest terrorists. STF team raided several locations in West Bengal, Kerala and Assam on the night of 17 and 18 December, in which 8 people were arrested.
