Parliament Winter Session: The issue of atrocities on minorities in Bangladesh and the arrest of ISKCON priest Chinmoy Prabhu Das is a hot topic in India too. BJP MP Hema Malini and some other party members raised this issue in Parliament regarding the situation in Bangladesh. BJP leaders have urged the central government to intervene for the safety of minority Hindus in Bangladesh and have also demanded Parliament to pass a resolution.
BJP MP from Mathura, Hema Malini, while raising the issue of Bangladesh during Zero Hour, said that the attacks on Hindus are condemnable. Regarding the arrest of Chinmoy Krishna Das, Hema Malini said, “The people of ISKCON are doing good work for humanity. Chinmoy Krishna Das was protesting peacefully against the oppression of Hindus in the neighboring country, but he was accused of treason and put in jail. Not only this, those who testified for him were also put inside.
Bangladesh government should ensure the safety of Hindus
BJP MP Hema Malini said in Parliament that she herself is a Krishna devotee and follows ISKCON. She said, “I am the representative of Mathura, the city of Lord Krishna and we will not tolerate oppression on religion at all. This is a matter of our sentiments and not a matter of foreign policy. Bangladesh government should ensure the safety of Hindus.”
Request for intervention from PM Modi
Not only Hema Malini but BJP MP from Assam Dilip Saikia also sought to raise the issue of atrocities on Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. He has demanded that a resolution should be passed in the Indian Parliament and sent to the Bangladesh Government, in which action should be taken to stop the atrocities on Hindus. At the same time, Anil Firozia has also requested the intervention of the Government of India and PM Modi regarding this issue.
