Ashwin broke James Anderson’s record, did this feat for the 33rd time in Test cricket

India vs West Indies Ravichandran Ashwin: Indian spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin achieved a special achievement against West Indies in Dominica Test. He completed 700 international wickets. Along with this, he did the feat of taking 5 wickets for the 33rd time in Test cricket. Ashwin also broke the record of James Anderson. Ashwin took 5 wickets for 60 runs in the first innings against the West Indies and took 6 maiden overs.

West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first on the first day of Dominica Test. During this, the team got all out on the score of 150 runs. Indian bowler took 5 wickets. Ashwin did the feat of taking 5 wickets for the fifth time in the Test against the West Indies. He took five wickets over all in Test cricket for the 33rd time. Ashwin also left Anderson behind. Anderson has taken five wickets 32 times in Tests.

Muttiah Muralitharan holds the record for most five-wicket hauls in Test cricket. He has done this amazing 67 times. Shane Warne is at number two. He has done this feat 37 times. Richard Hadlee has taken five wickets 36 times. While Rangana Herath has taken five wickets 34 times. Ashwin is at number six in this list.

Ashwin has taken five wickets against Australia for the most number of times. He did this amazing 7 times. Ashwin has taken 5 wickets six times against England and New Zealand. At the same time, he did this feat five times against West Indies and South Africa. He has taken five wickets three times against Sri Lanka and once against Bangladesh.
