Arshad Madani said on the order of Supreme Court – ‘Some people consider Madrassas as a threat to the security of the country.

Supreme Court On Madrasa: On Monday (21 October 2024), the Supreme Court had stayed the recommendation of NCPCR, which had demanded a ban on madrassas. Now this decision of the court was welcomed by Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani. He said, “We live in a society which is based on the foundation of diversity and secularism. “The decision of the Supreme Court is not just a legal process, but it also represents the social fabric in which every community has the right to live according to their religious beliefs.”

What did Arshad Madani say about madrassas?

Maulana Arshad Madani said, “Madrasa is the center of religious education of Muslims. It has always been a subject of controversy. Some people consider them a threat to the country’s security, while others see them as an important education system. In history, especially after the Revolt of 1857, many types of limitations were imposed on Madrassas, but in today’s context when we talk about the secular nature of India, it is important that we respect the rights of every religious group.

Maulana Madani said, “This decision of the Supreme Court is an indication that we should follow our Constitution and its sections. If we ignore the basic spirit of secularism, it will be harmful not just for one community but for the entire country. This will not only affect the rights of religious minorities, but it will also weaken our overall social fabric.”

‘Supreme Court’s decision is a positive step’

Arshad Madani said, “It is important that we create an environment where all communities can get education according to their religion and keep their culture alive. This decision of the Supreme Court is a positive step in this direction, which ensures that everyone gets the opportunity to maintain their religious identity. “It is not only a symbol of justice, but also the foundation of a society where diversity is respected.”

The Supreme Court has given a big relief to madrasas through one of its decisions. On Monday, the court put a stay on the recommendations of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights. NCPCR had demanded the court to close the madrassas, but the court rejected this demand outright.
