Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Senator Azam Swati is accused of posting on social media against army officers. According to the allegation, Swati had used derogatory threatening language against senior army officers on Twitter. A complaint was filed against him by Anisur Rehman, Technical Assistant, Cyber Crime Reporting Center.
Allegations of controversial tweet against the army
Anisur Rehman had said in his complaint that Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Senator Azam Swati had spoken abusive words against Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa in his tweet. Indecent language has also been used against other officers associated with the Pak Army in the tweet. Apart from Azam Swati, two more Twitter accounts have been mentioned in the complaint. It was said in the complaint that abusive words were used for the officers of the Pak Army. After which there was a negative campaign against the army in Pakistan.

First Information Report against Azam Swati under Section 20 (outraging the dignity of a person), Section 500, 501 (related to defamation), Section 131 (obstructing an army officer from his duty) of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 was registered. Please tell that in his tweet on 26 November, Azam Swati had called Army Chief Bajwa a ‘bastard’ and held General Bajwa responsible for the ruined condition of Pakistan.
Azam Swati was arrested in October
Azam Swati has been arrested today in this case. Earlier, he was arrested in October and after coming out of jail, he alleged that he was badly beaten in jail.
