Amit Shah in Ahmedabad: Ahmedabad is all set to organize the 6th All India Jail Duty Meet (AIPDM). This program is being organized by the Bureau of Police Research and Development. This program will run from September 4 to September 6. Gujarat IG KLN Rao said on Wednesday that the event will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and will also be attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi.
Meeting will be held in Gujarat Police Academy
Employees of administration and police departments of around 19 states and union territories are expected to participate in the three-day event. The meeting is scheduled to be held at TransStadia in Kankaria, Ahmedabad and Gujarat Police Academy in Karai. According to Rao, Ahmedabad last organized the AIPDM in 2007, its second meeting so far.
Amit Shah came to Gujarat last week
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is constantly visiting Gujarat. Assembly elections are also to be held in Gujarat by the end of this year. Amit Shah had said on Sunday that the government will make forensic investigation mandatory for serious crimes of more than six years. Amit Shah had attended the first convocation ceremony of the National Forensic Science University (NFSU) held in Gujarat as the chief guest. Amit Shah had said in his address, the central government is seriously working on strengthening the Evidence Act and for this it is talking to experts in the Indian Penal Code, and criminal cases.
