Amit Shah In Karnataka: Union Home Minister Amit Shah took part in a meeting of booth level BJP workers during his visit to Karnataka. He held this meeting to take stock of the preparations to be done at the ground level in view of the assembly elections to be held in Karnataka in the month of May next year. In this meeting, along with CM Basavaraj Bommai, State Home Minister Arga Jananendra, BJP General Secretary and in-charge of the state Arun Singh, National General Secretary BL Santosh and National Secretary CT Ravi were present.
BJP is constantly trying to prepare its political ground in the old Mysuru area. The support base of JDS and Congress is very strong in this area. The BJP had won this area in 2019, when a JDS leader switched sides. Earlier on Friday, Amit Shah inaugurated a mega dairy plant in Mandya district in the presence of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.

BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah said in a big program of Vokkalinga community in Mandya district that JDS-Congress have got many opportunities and they are meeting each other. This time lotus will bloom in Mandya and Mysuru. We will win majority. Emphasizing on BJP’s Hindutva and development strategy, he targeted the Congress. He said that Siddaramaiah, who was the CM from 2013 to 2018, withdrew the cases against the banned organization PFI. Shah said that after BJP came to power, PFI was banned and its leaders were arrested.
BJP’s eye on Vokkalinga community
Mandya district of old Mysuru region has seven assembly seats. Out of which 6 are occupied by JDS and one was won by BJP in the by-election. Let us inform that the population of Vokkalinga community in Karnataka is about 15 percent and it is the second largest vote bank after Lingayat. The Vokkalinga community is dominant in the old Mysuru area. However, this community has remained away from the BJP till now.

Amit Shah visited the Adi Chunchangiri Math, which has a great influence in the Vokkalinga community, during his visit to Karnataka. Here he met Nirmalanandanath Swamiji of the Math. Amit Shah also agreed to the cabinet expansion which had been stalled for a long time. Through which leaders like KS Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jharkoli will be brought before the 2023 elections. In Mandya, Shah has played every possible bet to create space among the people through the issues of development of Ram Mandir, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Kashi Vishwanath in Ayodhya in 2024.
