Amidst the hijab controversy, colleges and universities will open in Karnataka from this date, education minister said


Karnataka News: Amidst the hijab controversy in Karnataka, the state government has taken a big decision to reopen colleges and universities. State Primary and Secondary Education Minister BC Nagesh has announced that pre-university colleges and degree colleges will be opened again from 16 February. Earlier, from February 14, the government has decided to open schools up to class 10 in the state. This case started from Udupi in Karnataka from December last year. Then some girl students were not given entry in the educational institution because of wearing hijab. There was a lot of protest in the state regarding this and recently the state government had decided to close the schools and colleges.

Schools up to 10th open in the state from Monday

Schools from Monday to 10th have been opened in the state. However, at the entry gate of a school in Mandya district, girl students wearing hijab were stopped from entering the campus and were given entry only after removing the hijab. There was also a debate between the parents of many girl students and the school officials regarding this. Many girl students were given entry after removing the hijab.

Last week, the Karnataka High Court had given an interim order regarding this dispute, according to which schools and colleges can be opened in the state, but now students or girl students cannot go wearing any kind of religious clothes. Hijab issue is currently in discussion all over the country and political rhetoric is also happening fiercely. At this time there is a debate all over the country regarding the Hijab controversy. Some people are supporting it, some people are opposing it.
