Congress has also released 12 lists for the upcoming elections. However, the party has not yet announced candidates for Amethi and Rae Bareli seats of Uttar Pradesh, considered the stronghold of the Gandhi family.

2019 Lok Sabha Elections In 2017, Congress had announced candidates in the very first list for Amethi and Rae Bareli seats. In the last elections, Rahul Gandhi contested from Amethi and Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli. This time Congress has sent Sonia Gandhi to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi is contesting elections from Wayanad. In such a situation, the question remains whether the Gandhi family will move away from these seats?

Voting will be held on both the seats in the 5th phase
According to the report of Indian Express, Congress leaders say that voting will be held in the 5th phase in Amethi and Rae Bareli and the date of nomination is to be on 3rd May. In such a situation, the party has a lot of time to announce candidates for these seats. However, the party has already announced candidates from Maharajganj, Deoria, Bansgaon and Varanasi, where voting is to be held on June 1.

‘Priyanka Gandhi is active’
According to the report, senior Congress leaders say that only Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi will decide whether they will contest elections from Uttar Pradesh or not. He said that Priyanka’s presence in the India Alliance rally indicates that Priyanka is active and she can contest elections.

‘Will take decision at the right time’
A section of Congress believes that if Gandhi brothers and sisters will contest elections from UP and they will announce it at the right time. Party leaders also believe that whether they contest elections or not, BJP will get an issue. If they do not fight then BJP will say that they ran away. If they fight, she will say that all three Gandhis want to go to Parliament and all of them are in one family.

However, if the Gandhi family does not contest elections from UP, then this will also send a message to the people that Congress is now becoming a party of the South. Congress has government in Karnataka and Telangana. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi himself is contesting elections from Kerala. Not only this, many other leaders like KC Venugopal are in the fray from southern states.
