Allahabad HC Bar Association election results declared, Anil Tiwari wins the post of president

Allahabad High Court Bar Association Election 2024: The results for the post of President and Secretary of Allahabad High Court Bar Association have been declared today. Senior advocate Anil Tiwari has once again been elected president, while Vikrant Pandey has won the close contest for the post of secretary. Anil Tiwari, who was elected to the post of President, defeated Rakesh Pandey alias Babua by a huge margin of 603 votes. Anil Tiwari got 3048 votes, while Rakesh Pandey, who stood second, could get only 2445 votes, Veer Singh stood third with 1320 votes.

Vikrant Pandey, elected to the post of Secretary, got 1959 votes, while Akhilesh Sharma, who stood second, could get only 1868 votes. Rai Saheb Yadav stood third by getting 1704 votes. Counting of votes for the remaining 26 posts including Vice President-Treasurer and Joint Secretary has not been done yet. Counting of votes for different posts will continue continuously. It may take another four to five days for the counting of votes to be over.

After being elected to the post of President, Senior Advocate Anil Tiwari was warmly welcomed by his fellow lawyers. Flowers were showered on them, drums and shehnai were played to welcome them. There was a huge celebration, after registering the victory, Anil Tiwari said that his priority would be to do better work for the respect and welfare of lawyers. He also claimed to make efforts to provide cheap and accessible justice to the litigants by creating coordination between the bar and the bench.

Anil Tiwari said that he will take every necessary step in the interest of lawyers. We will work to provide maximum facilities to lawyers through governments. He has also said that strict steps will be taken against those who defame the advocacy profession. It is noteworthy that the voting for the 28-member executive of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association was held amidst much fanfare on April 3. Lawyers had participated enthusiastically in the voting. More than 85 percent voters had voted.
