Jharkhand Assembly Election 2024: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday (September 19) targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party and the central government. Addressing a public meeting in Meral of Garhwa district under the ‘Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ program, he said that all the former CMs of the state have gone to BJP to remove me from the post of Chief Minister.
CM Hemant Soren said that the Prime Minister is also with him. Everyone is on one side and I am on the other. But, I have the blessings of the people. He said that elections are near in the state. In such a situation, people conspiring to create Hindu-Muslim divide are roaming in the state. People from Gujarat, UP, Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh will be seen in every village.
‘Vote stealers must be chased away’
CM Soren alleged, “These people will gather crowds on the basis of money power and spread the poison of caste, religion and sect. They will have to be put in the election sack and sent back to the places they came from. Those who steal votes will have to be driven out of the state.”
Accusing the central government of treating Jharkhand step-motherly, Soren said, “For four years, we are tired of rubbing our noses in front of the centre, they did not pay the state’s dues. When we demand the rights of Jharkhand, they put us in jail. For three years, we kept demanding housing for the poor from the central government, but they did not approve it.”
He said, “Now that the elections are near, they have shown some housing toy. We are working to provide 20 lakh houses under the Abua Awas Yojana of the state government.”
‘BJP has a stomachache’
Soren said that “we work to strengthen the poor here by giving them pension as a support for their old age and by giving honorarium to women, work to strengthen the youth, work to build good schools for children, but BJP gets upset over this.”
He said, “My target is to strengthen every home in the next 5 years and this government of yours will do the work of delivering Rs 1 lakh to every home.”
‘Lakhs of people benefit from electricity waiver’
CM Soren said, “We have made electricity free up to 200 units, and have also waived off the outstanding electricity bills up to 200 units. Lakhs of people have benefited from this. Our first priority is to strengthen the villages economically, when the villages are strong, the state will automatically become strong.”
Describing the Jharkhand assembly elections as a fight between the rich and the poor, he said that the BJP people come to you in times of need to extend their hands, but when their work is done, they throw away the poor like a fly from milk.
‘This is a fight between the rich and the poor’
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said, “This is their work. The upcoming fight is going to be between the rich and the poor. These people will use money to break families, parties and even society. We need to be cautious of them.”
