Ajit Agarkar can become the new head of the BCCI selection committee, these veterans also filled applications

BCCI Selection Committee: After the defeat of T20 World Cup 2022, major changes were seen in the selection committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The BCCI showed the way out to the chairman of the selection committee, Chetan Sharma and his entire team. The last date for the application of these posts has passed and many veterans have given their names for the vacant posts.

Many veterans filled applications

Former left-arm spinner Maninder Singh, opening batsman Shiv Sundar Das, who have experience of playing more than 20 Tests for India, have applied for the position of senior selectors of the Indian Cricket Board. It could not be confirmed whether former fast bowler Ajit Agarkar has applied or not. Many believe that if Agarkar applies, he is sure to become the chairman of the selection committee.

These cricketers applied from Mumbai

Salil Ankola, the current chairman of Mumbai’s senior team selection committee, former wicketkeeper Sameer Dighe and former batsman Vinod Kambli have applied from Mumbai. The last date for applications for the new selection committee was till 6 pm on Monday. More than 50 people are understood to have applied. Most of these Tests have been played by Maninder Singh (35 Tests) and Das (21 Tests). Maninder applied in 2021 as well and was not selected despite qualifying in the interview round.

Maninder, Atul Wasan, Nikhil Chopra, Ajay Ratra and Ritinder Singh Sodhi have applied from North Zone. Das, Prabhanjan Malik, Rashmi Ranjan Parida, Shubhamoy Das and Saurasish Lahiri have applied from the eastern region. Amay Khurasia and Gyanendra Pandey have applied from the central region.
