Tirupati Temple Dispute: The new Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board, BR Naidu, had said on Thursday (October 31) that all the employees working at Tirumala should be from the Hindu community. To which All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi hit back on Saturday (02 November) and said that when TTD trustees cannot be Muslims, then how can there be two non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board?
Asaduddin Owaisi said that out of the 24 members of TTD Board (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam), not a single member is non-Hindu. The new chairman of TTD says that the people working there should be Hindus. We are not against it, we just object that Narendra Modi The Government of India is saying in the proposed Waqf Bill that it is mandatory to have 2 non-Muslim members in the Central Waqf Council.
There should be equality in both the boards
Lok Sabha MP from Hyderabad asked why are you bringing this provision in the Waqf Bill? TTD is a board for Hindu religion and Waqf Board is for Muslim religion. So there should be equality between both. When TTD trustees cannot be Muslims, how can there be 2 non-Muslim members in the Waqf Board?
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams’ chairman says that only Hindus should work in Tirumala. But Modi govt wants to make it mandatory for there to be non-Muslims in Waqf Boards & Waqf Council. Most Hindu Endowment laws insist that only Hindus should be its members. What is good for…

What did the new Chairman of TTD Board say?
In fact, after becoming the new Chairman of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board, on Thursday (31 October) BR Naidu had said that every person working in Tirumala should be a Hindu. This is going to be my first time. There are many issues in this. We should look into this. We will discuss with the Andhra Pradesh government regarding the future of employees belonging to other religions. He had also said that he would consider giving them VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) or transferring them to other departments.
