50 candidates had filled nomination forms

According to an Election Commission statement, a total of 50 candidates, including nine women, had filed their nomination papers for these seats till October 25, out of which six were rejected during scrutiny and the same number of candidates withdrew their names from the elections. Have taken.

After the withdrawal of nominations, out of these four constituencies, maximum 14 candidates are contesting in Belaganj assembly constituency of Gaya district, which also includes Vishwanath Kumar Singh of the main opposition party of the state, Rashtriya Janata Dal, who is from neighboring district Jehanabad. He is the son of MP Surendra Prasad Yadav.

There is a need for by-election on this seat due to the election of Surendra Yadav, who was MLA from Belaganj, to the Lok Sabha from Jehanabad. Vishwanath Kumar Singh’s main rival in Belaganj is Manorama Devi Hans of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party JDU, who is a former MLC. While election strategist turned leader Mohammad Amjad of Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraj and Hyderabad MP Owaisi’s party AIMIM Mohammad Zameen Ali Hasan are also in the fray.

Of these four seats, the least number of candidates are five in Ramgarh, where Ajit Kumar Singh, son of RJD state unit chief Jagdanand Singh, is contesting to retain the seat that fell vacant after his brother Sudhakar was elected to the Lok Sabha from Buxar. In the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party has expressed its confidence in Ashok Kumar Singh in Ramgarh, who had won this seat in 2015 but stood third in the last election.

Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party has given ticket to Satish Kumar Singh Yadav this time, while Jan Suraj has made Sushil Kumar Singh its candidate. On the reserved seat of Imamganj, Union Minister and founder of Hindustani Awam Morcha Jitan Ram Manjhi has fielded his son and wife of State Minister Santosh Suman, Deepa Kumari. The challenge to retain this seat, which fell vacant when Manjhi contested the elections from Gaya Lok Sabha seat, is being faced by RJD’s Roshan Manjhi, who is a former member of the Zilla Parishad.

In Tarari, Raju Yadav of Communist Party of India Marxist Leninist is trying to retain this seat of his party, which has become vacant after party MLA Sudama Prasad was elected MP from Arrah. Yadav’s main rival is BJP’s newcomer Vishal Prashant, son of multiple-time MLA Sunil Pandey, who was the runner-up in 2020 while contesting as an independent candidate.

Two candidates named Raju Yadav in Tarari

Jan Suraj had earlier announced to field former Deputy Army Chief Lieutenant General Shri Krishna Singh from this seat, but after his withdrawal due to technical reasons, he has fielded local social worker Kiran Singh. Interestingly, the entry of another namesake of the CPI-ML candidate from this seat, Raju Yadav, as an independent candidate has complicated the path to victory for the Left party candidate.
