A report has said that RCB is preparing to buy Shreyas Iyer. Under the captaincy of Iyer, KKR became champion last season. However, talks did not work out between the franchise and Iyer for the upcoming season and in such a situation, KKR released Iyer. The report also says that apart from RCB, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are also ready to make a big bid on Iyer.
If reports are to be believed, RCB and Delhi can also make Shreyas Iyer the captain. Just as KKR released its captain Iyer, similarly Delhi Capitals and RCB have released their captains Rishabh Pant and Faf du Plessis. It is being said that RCB is ready to pay any price for Iyer.
Royal Challengers Bangalore retained only three players for IPL 2025, for which they have spent a total of Rs 37 crore. RCB has retained Virat Kohli (21 crore), Rajat Patidar (11 crore) and Yash Dayal (5 crore). There is also news that RCB is first considering making Virat the captain. However, it is up to King Kohli to decide whether he wants to become the captain again or not. If Kohli refuses to take the captaincy then the franchise will appoint a new captain.
