Lok Sabha Election 2024: The trumpet of Lok Sabha elections has been announced. All political parties have started preparing for the elections. Meanwhile, on Thursday (April 4), 183 candidates filed their nominations. These include veteran leaders like KC Venugopal, former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and Rajiv Chandrashekhar.
At the same time, BJP leader Tejashwi Surya filed his nomination from Bengaluru South. Union Minister Anurag Thakur was present during the nomination of Tesvi Surya. Surya declared total assets of Rs 4.10 crore in his affidavit. BJP MP said that he does not own any immovable property.
His wealth as of 2019 Lok Sabha ElectionsThis is 31.5 percent more than the 13 lakh declared in the census. Surya’s total assets are Rs 4.10 crore. He has invested Rs 1.99 crore in mutual funds. Also bought shares worth more than Rs 1.79 crore. Surya told in his affidavit that he had invested most of the money in mutual funds and stocks and due to the boom in the market, his wealth increased.
Surya is a lawyer by profession
Surya is an alumnus of Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies and an advocate in the Karnataka High Court. He is the nephew of BJP leader and Basavanagudi MLA Ravi Subramaniam. He is the current MP from Bengaluru South. In 2019, he defeated Congress candidate Hariprasad by more than three lakh votes.
When will elections be held in Karnataka?
According to the Election Commission, this time elections will be held in 7 phases across the country. Voting for the first phase will be held on April 19, while voting for the seventh and final phase will be held on June 1. If we talk about Karnataka, voting will be held in the second and third phase for 28 seats in the state.
In the second phase, voting will be held on the seats of Udupi-Chikmagalur, Hassan, Dakshina Kannada, Chitradurga, Tumkur, Mandya, Mysore, Chamarajanagar, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore North, Bangalore Central, Bangalore South, Chikkaballapur and Kolar in Karnataka. Whereas, for the third phase, voting will be held on the seats of Chikodi, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bijapur, Gulbarga, Raichur, Bidar, Koppal, Bellary, Haveri, Dharwad, Uttara Kannada, Davangere and Shimoga.
