Adipurush Makers Alter Controversial Dialogues Including ‘Jalegi Tere Baap Ki’

New Delhi: Soon after its release, ‘Adipurush’ faced criticism and demands for a ban. Om Raut, the director, Manoj Muntashir, the co-writer, and the producers T-Series and UV Creations had all promised to change the language in a few crucial dialogues in order to calm the people. As stated, it seems like the filmmakers have modified some of the film’s offensive dialogues.

Currently, according to sources, the revised version of the film is being shown in theatres. The word “baap” has been changed to “Lanka” in the clip of a scene. The controversial dialogue by Bajrang (based on Hanuman) saying, “Kapda tere baap ka, tel tere baap ka, aag bhi tere baap ki, aur jalegi bhi tere baap ki” has been changed in the fresh prints, according to a tweet posted by viewer.

“Kapda teri Lanka ka, tel teri Lanka ka, aag bhi teri Lanka ki, aur jalegi bhi teri Lanka hi,” the new dialogue sounds like.

Here is a list of the old dialogues and their modified version as per Indian Express:

“Tu andar kaise ghuse… tu jaanta bhi hai kaun hoon main”, has been changed to, “Tum andar kaise ghuse… tum jaante bhi ho kaun hoon main”.

“Kapda teri Lanka ka… toh jalegi bhi teri Lanka”, has been replaced by, “Kapda teri Lanka ka… toh jalegi bhi teri Lanka”.

“Jo hamari behno… unki Lanka laga denge”, is now, “Jo hamari behno… unki Lanka mein aag laga denge”.

“Mere ek sapole ne tumhare iss sheshnaag ko lamba kar diya… bhara pada hai”, has been changed to, “Mere ek sapole ne tumhare iss sheshnaag ko samapt kar diya… bhara pada hai”.

In an interview with the Republic, a day following ‘Adipurush’ release, Muntashir was questioned about the dialogues and said that he had grown up hearing variations of the Ramayana spoken in daily terms. “It is not an error. It is a very meticulous thought process that has gone into writing the dialogues for Bajrang Bali and for all the characters. We have made it simple because we have to understand one thing if there are multiple characters in a film There has to be a kind of diversion, a kind of division,” he said.

In Om Raut’s adaptation of the Ramayana, ‘Adipurush’, Prabhas plays Raghav, who is based on Rama, while Kriti Sanon plays Janaki, who is Sita, Saif Ali Khan plays Lankesh, who is Ravana, Sunny Singh is Lakshman, and Devdutta Nage To install Bajrang. The film hits theaters on June 16.
