Ahead of the winter session of Parliament, the government called an all-party meeting on Sunday. In the meeting, Congress demanded discussion in Parliament on Adani and Manipur issue. Apart from this, opposition parties also demanded discussion on pollution and rail accidents in North India.
Congress leader Pramod Tiwari said that his party appealed to the government to allow discussion in Parliament on the allegations of bribery against Adani Group. He said that his party wants this issue to be raised first in the Parliament meeting on Monday. Rajya Sabha member Tiwari said this is a serious issue of economic and security interests of the country as the company allegedly paid more than Rs 2,300 crore to politicians and bureaucrats to get favorable deals for its solar power projects.  ;
The session will continue till 20th December.
The winter session of Parliament will start from Monday and will continue till 20th December. 16 bills including the Waqf Amendment Bill have been listed for this session. Apart from BJP President JP Nadda, Congress leaders Jairam Ramesh and Gaurav Gogoi, T Shiva, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Anupriya Patel attended the all-party meeting called by Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.
< strong>Waqf (Amendment) Bill also listed
The pending bills also include the Waqf (Amendment) Bill which has been listed for consideration and passing by the joint committee of both the Houses after submitting its report in the Lok Sabha. The committee has been asked to submit its report on the last day of the first week of the winter session. The opposition members of the committee are demanding extension of the deadline for submitting the report of the committee. He has alleged that committee chairman and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Jagdambika Pal is disrupting the committee meetings and has sought the intervention of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
