Coromandel Train Accident Investigation: The investigation into the train accident in Balasore district of Odisha is going on. The death toll of this accident is also increasing. The number of people who lost their lives in this accident has increased to 292. Along with this, hundreds of people injured in the accident are undergoing treatment. Meanwhile, the Railways has given a statement on the reports of the absconding of the Railway employees involved in the investigation of the case.

A Railway spokesperson said on Tuesday (June 20), “There are some media reports that the employees of Bahanaga Bazar Railway Station have absconded or are missing. There is no truth in these. It is clarified that in the inquiry None of the employees involved are missing or absconding. Wherever they are being called by the CBI team, they are reaching there.” In fact, it has been said in media reports that Signal JE Aamir Khan is missing after the Odisha train accident. However, the Railways has rejected these reports.

Railway Minister visited Bahanaga

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also visited Bahanaga on Tuesday. “I came today to thank the people of Bahanaga for the way they served unitedly during the accident,” he said. Rs 1 crore for Bahanaga hospital and Rs 1 crore for Bahanaga and its surrounding villages. A provision of Rs crore has been made. The incident is under investigation.”

Train accident happened in Balasore, Odisha

This accident took place on June 2 last near Bahanaga Bazar railway station in Balasore, Odisha. According to the news agency PTI, in this accident involving three trains, 287 people died on the spot and five others died in hospitals while 1,208 people were injured.

coromandal express collided with goods train

Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train were involved in the accident. The Coromandel Express collided with a goods train near Bahanaga Bazar station, derailing its coaches. Some coaches of the Coromandel also collided with the Bengaluru-Howrah Express passing through it at the same time.

PM Modi had said about strict action

CBI is investigating this train accident. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said after the accident, “This accident has happened due to change in electronic interlocking and those responsible for it have been identified.” PM Modi also visited the spot after this accident and said, “Strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty for this accident.”
