Uttarakhand News: The Uttarakhand High Court, while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed regarding illegal appointments made in the Vidhansabha Secretariat since 2000 and action taken against corrupt people, has directed the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat and the Government Government) has issued a notice. The court has asked to file the reply by May 1. The next hearing of the case has been fixed on May 1.
According to the case, social worker Abhinav Thapar, a resident of Dehradun, filed a public interest litigation and said that corruption and irregularities have been done in the Assembly Secretariat since 2000, along with backdoor appointments. On this, the government canceled the recruitments since 2016 by forming an inquiry committee, but this backdoor recruitment scam is going on since 2000 till now. No action was taken on the appointments made from 2000 to 2015, which the government ignored. All the Speakers and Chief Ministers involved in providing jobs to their close ones through backdoor are silent.
Violation of Rules – Petitioner
The petitioner has also said that the Government has passed the mandate of 2003, which prohibited ad hoc appointments, in violation of Articles 14, 16 and 187 of the Constitution, in which every citizen has equal rights in government jobs and there is provision for recruitment according to the rules, Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly 1974 And has violated the 2011 rules of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly.
Demand for investigation under the supervision of the sitting judge of the High Court
It was demanded that after the formation of the state, all the appointments from the year 2000 to 2022 should be investigated under the supervision of the sitting judge of the High Court and the loot of government money should be recovered from the corrupt. The government has done backdoor recruitment of its close ones while doing biased work. Lakhs of unemployed and educated youth of the state have been cheated. This is a heinous kind of corruption by the governments and the present government is also not taking any action against the culprits. After hearing the matter, a division bench of Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Manoj Kumar Tiwari has issued a notice to the Assembly Secretariat and the government seeking answers.
