Shivaratri: Why Shiva, the god of destruction, is worshiped at night only

Shivratri: Lord Shankar is the savior of this world. It is easy to please them and get their grace. By the way, worship of all the deities, fasting etc. is usually done during the day itself. So the question arises as to why one has to resort to night to please Lord Bhole. After all, why does Lord Shankar love the night only?

Lord Shiva is the master of destruction power and Tamoguna, so it is natural for him to be attached to Tamomayi night. Night is representative of the time of destruction, its arrival destroys the light. The living beings who keep on doing work throughout the day and the curiosity to do the work progresses towards the end in the night and in the end the consciousness is destroyed by sleep and becomes unconscious for a period of time.

Shiva is the god of destruction. That’s why he is dear to the night. This is the reason that Lord Shankar is worshiped not only on this night but always before the beginning of the night i.e. in Pradosh Kaal. Being in Krishna Paksha of Shivaratri is also one of the reasons. Moon is full and strong in Shukla Paksha and weak and weak in Krishna Paksha. Moon is the giver of juice in life. That is why in astrology it has been linked to the mind. Along with its growth, there is an increase in the substances filled with all the juices of the world and when the moon starts weakening in the Krishna Paksha, then the worldly tastes of life start decreasing and the complete emaciation becomes Amavasya.

Sage Maharishis have considered fasting to be important in all spiritual rituals. According to the Gita, fasting is a sure way to get rid of the subject. Fasting is essential for spiritual practice. Night awakening is important with fasting. Only a restrained person who controls the senses and mind by fasting can wake up in the night and try to achieve his goal. Due to all these reasons, with fasting on this Maharatri, after waking up in the night, Shiva worships.
