Supporters of BJP and SP candidates fight in Ayodhya, firing several rounds

UP Election 2022: The hustle and bustle for the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh continues. Meanwhile, on Friday night, supporters of BJP and SP candidates clashed fiercely in Ayodhya and several rounds of bullets were fired. The incident took place at Neve Kabirpur crossroads of Maharajganj police station when supporters of SP candidate Abhay Singh and BJP candidate Aarti Tiwari’s husband Khabbu Tiwari came face to face.

The Samajwadi Party has tweeted that the attack on SP candidate Abhay Singh from Gosaiganj assembly seat by BJP goons is highly condemnable! With the support given by the public to the socialists, the public will answer to the ruling power. The Samajwadi Party has demanded action from the Election Commission.

At the same time, the police say that people from both the sides have suffered injuries.

Ayodhya SSP Shailesh Pandey said, “The vehicles of one party’s candidate and his supporter and another party’s supporter came face-to-face near Kabirpur intersection in Thana Maharajganj area. In this, both the sides allege that there has been stone pelting and firing. Neither side has been shot. People on both sides have suffered minor injuries. Misleading things are being spread in the media. The windows of the vehicles are broken. We are investigating this. There is peace and order on the spot. Both the sides are giving complaint. Action will be taken against those who are guilty.
