Sambhal Population: Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh is in the news due to two important incidents. Firstly, because of the survey of Jama Masjid for the first time on 19th November and secondly because of the opening of the doors of Shri Kartikeya Mahadev Temple after 46 years. Because of this temple, which opened after 46 years, many pages of history are now being turned.
Now memories of the 1978 riots are also becoming fresh in the minds of people. Politics is also happening on this. CM in the assembly Yogi Adityanath Claimed that 184 Hindus had died due to the riots of 1978. However, if we look at the media reports of that time, we will know that the official figure was 16-25 people. Samajwadi Party MLA Iqbal Mehmood in Sambhal also does not agree with CM Yogi’s claim. When the CM presented the figures in the House, Mehmood immediately said that if his claim was true then he himself would resign from his post.
CM Yogi targeted SP, read the couplets of Allama Iqbal and asked- Is he your ideal?
Amidst all this, the population of the district is also being discussed. According to one figure, in 1947, there were 55 percent Muslims and 45 percent Hindus in Sambhal. Now the Muslim population in Sambhal is 85 percent and the Hindu population is 15 percent. So far, 209 Hindus have died and 4 Muslims have been killed in different communal riots in Sambhal.
The survey was conducted on 24 November
Let us tell you that on the morning of 24th November, the team had arrived to conduct the survey on the instructions of the court. During that time the crowd created a ruckus, violence took place and bullets were fired. 4 people died in the violence, police said they died in mutual firing. People accused the police of opening fire. Police investigation revealed the use of foreign weapons. Action is being taken against those involved in the violence.
During this action, the police is removing encroachments from the streets of Sambhal. During the action the administration was investigating illegal electricity connections. During the investigation, on Saturday afternoon, a temple which had been closed for 46 years was found in Khaggu Sarai area of Sambhal. The temple is about one kilometer away from the place where the violence took place on November 24. Now there is a new noise in the politics of the state regarding the temple.
