‘If Sambhal violence is investigated properly, many police officers will go to jail’- Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind

Jamaat-e-Islami Hindi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has given a big statement on the Places of Worship Act, 1991 and Sambhal violence. Jamaat-e-Islami Hind said on Saturday (December 7, 2024) that today the communal unity across the country is facing problems due to the wrong decision of the court. Especially the Muslim community is facing problems. The courts, the government and the public should understand that the Act which was made by the Parliament should not be changed by the courts. The courts, the government and the Parliament of the country should also see that whoever comes against this Act should be fined.

Malik Mohtashim Khan, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, said that in the year 1991, the Parliament of the country made a law, Places of Worship Act, in which Babri Masjid was made an exception. Although the Babri Masjid decision was also not given under the law and justice, but at that time it was definitely said that this Act will be implemented in every situation, but now the situation has arisen in the country. Now communal unity across the country is facing problems due to the wrong decision of the court. Because this is causing polarization.

Innocent Muslim youth lost their lives in Sambhaal violence

Referring to the Sambhal violence, Khan said that we strongly condemn the police firing in Sambhal, in which innocent Muslim youth lost their lives. Police should work responsibly to maintain peace and not promote unrest. This tragic incident reflects state oppression, police arbitrariness and discrimination. Today, small courts in the country are working against big courts.

Police failed to deal with this matter

He said that the first survey in Sambhal was done successfully, but still the second survey was conducted. After the end of the second survey, such slogans were raised with the survey group just to harass the Muslim community which became the main reason for inflaming the atmosphere. Although the job of the police was to control them, instead of controlling the people, they opened fire. It should also be investigated whether the police used non-official weapons or not. The police failed to deal with this matter.

‘Leader of opposition is being prevented from regaining control’
Any politician who wants to go there is not being allowed to go. The opposition leaders and leaders of other parties also want to go there, but they are being stopped, so what is the administration trying to hide there? Muslims are also being arrested. The country is being taken into darkness and on the wrong path. Speaking on the Sambhal violence, JIH Vice President Salim Engineer said that if an honest investigation is conducted against police officers and administration officials, they will lose their jobs and will also go to jail.

‘Speech does not run a country’

On the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, the engineer told ABP News that it is claimed that something is happening there, but until you go there and see what is happening and who is doing it? Because propaganda is also happening there. If atrocities are happening then it should be stopped. The lives, property and places of worship of minorities should be protected. It is dangerous to refer to other countries to run our country.
