Maulana Madani On Ajmer Dargah Claim: Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani termed the Dargah of Khwaja Khwajagan Sultan-ul-Hind Hazrat Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri as “Shiv Temple” as an attack on the heart of India. Maulana Madani has demanded an immediate stop to the ongoing anarchy regarding mosques across the country.
In this regard, he has strongly condemned the campaign against Jama Masjid of Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand) and the local administration’s permission to communal elements in the Panchayat. He said that such people have the protection of governments everywhere, the result of which is coming out in the form of anarchy and hatred in the country. He has demanded from the Central Government and State Governments to desist from giving protection to such elements, otherwise history will not forgive their conduct.
‘The court should immediately reject such claims’
Maulana Madani said that as far as Ajmer Sharif Dargah is concerned, this claim made in this regard is ridiculous. Such a claim should have been immediately rejected by the court. Throwing light on the life of Khwaja Sahib, Maulana Madani said that Hazrat Khwaja Sahib was a fakir free from worldly pleasures, who did not rule over any land, rather he ruled over the hearts. For this reason you were called ‘Sultan-ul-Hind’.
‘Established the tradition of brotherhood’
He further said that for a thousand years you have been a symbol of this country and your personality is popular as an ambassador of peace. Because of his service towards the poor, people also gave him the nickname of Gharib Nawaz. The most important aspect of Khawaja Gharib Nawaz’s life is peace, tolerance and love for living beings. The tradition of human brotherhood, equality and service to the poor that he established is the common heritage of all Indians, irrespective of religion and community.
Reminded me of Mahatma Gandhi
Maulana Madani said that there was no discrimination between Muslims and non-Muslims in humanitarian service. Just as his doors were open for Muslims, he was also open for people of other religions and without any discrimination, he kept warming hearts and refreshing minds with his love. India’s great thinker C. Rajagopal Acharya (first Governor General of India) had said on the occasion of darshan of the Dargah that he spoke to the people in the language of great character, love and compassion in such a way that it changed the hearts of the people. Mahatma Gandhi, during his visit to Ajmer Sharif in 1922, had said that Khwaja Saheb’s life was a bright life of human love, he had his own mission to spread the truth, but his whole life preached non-violence.
