Tamil Nadu Rain: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for some districts of Tamil Nadu, saying that due to the deep depression, there is a possibility of heavy rainfall in the coastal and delta districts in the next five days. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Mayiladuthurai, Karaikal, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam. Apart from this, orange alert has been issued in many other districts, which include Ramanathapuram, Tiruchirappalli, Perambalur, Kallakurichi and Chengalpattu. There is a possibility of heavy rain in these areas.
Very heavy rainfall is likely in some districts of Tamil Nadu like Ariyalur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Pudukkottai, Villupuram, Puducherry, Sivagangai, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur, Ranipet and Tiruvannamalai districts. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry also. Due to rough sea, fishermen have been advised not to return and venture out to the shores during this period. The IMD has predicted that the depression will subside by November 30, leading to an overall yellow alert in the state.
Heavy rain in Tamil Nadu for 5 days
There has been heavy rain at different places in Tamil Nadu since November 21, causing severe floods and waterlogging in residential areas. In Thoothukudi, urban areas like Rajagopal Nagar, Pushpa Nagar, Raju Nagar, Postal Telegram Colony and other parts of the city also experienced significant waterlogging. Earlier this month, Udhayanidhi Stalin assured the people of the government’s preparedness for the rains, saying, “Based on the study of the impact of the rains in October, we have increased the number of motor pumps and volunteers. We have 1194 motor pumps. There are 152 super sucker machines. There is an increase of 21 percent in the placement of motors and machines. Tamil Nadu government is fully prepared for the rains.
Weather condition in areas around Delhi
Pink cold has knocked in Delhi and surrounding areas. A drop in temperature is being seen in the morning and evening. However, it may take time for the cold to reach the expected level in Delhi. Along with this, the level of pollution has increased, due to which people are having trouble breathing clean air.
Weather conditions in different parts of the country
North India: There may be light fog in the morning in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. A slight drop in temperature will continue.
Eastern India: Morning and night temperatures will decrease in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The weather will be normal during the day.
South India: There is a possibility of light rain in parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
West India: There will be dry weather in Maharashtra and Gujarat. The temperature will remain normal.
Central India: Night temperatures may reduce due to cold winds in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
