maharashtra assembly elections There are a few days left for the results, but People’s Poll has presented a picture by releasing party-by-party estimates, from which the mode of electoral battle in the state can be estimated. According to this poll, if we keep the alliance aside, BJP is emerging as the largest party in this election, while there is a close contest between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena.
BJP has an edge, Congress faces a challenge
According to the People’s Poll, BJP is expected to get 113 seats in Maharashtra. That means BJP alone cannot touch the majority mark, but this is a very strong position for BJP. BJP’s ally Shiv Sena is expected to get 52 seats. Whereas Ajit Pawar’s NCP seems to get 17 seats. On the other hand, Congress is expected to get 35 seats. The Congress party had contested the elections under the Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, but this time its position seems to be weakening compared to the BJP. Congress may have to face a big challenge in competing with BJP.
Role of Shiv Sena and NCP
Shiv Sena (Uddhav faction) may get around 27 seats. Shiv Sena was the main ally of BJP in the last elections, but now the party is planning to go on a different path from its stand, which has affected its electoral performance. NCP (Sharad Pawar) led party can get 35 seats.
