IMD Forecast on Winter: People’s problems have increased due to sudden increase in pollution and falling mercury in the last two days in entire North India including Delhi-NCR. Amidst the onset of cold, people are finding it difficult to breathe in the bad air. In most of the cities from UP to Punjab and Haryana, a blanket of smog is visible in the sky even during the day. Meanwhile, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in cities is also continuously worsening.
The Meteorological Department says that the reason for the sudden appearance of dense fog and mist in North India is the active western disturbance in the Himalayan region. Due to Western Disturbance the wind direction has changed from west to east. Because of this, the pollution accumulated over Pakistan and Punjab has moved towards Delhi. In fact, when smoke and dust come together and the temperature falls, the humidity gathers around it and takes the form of fog. For this reason the AQI level is also continuously increasing. Talking about Delhi, the AQI here was 316 at around 11 pm on Tuesday night, while 349 was recorded at 7 am on Wednesday.
Pollution will bother you till 15th November
The Meteorological Department says that the winds are becoming weak at this time. In such a situation, the pollution level in Delhi-NCR and North India will remain bad from 13 to 15 November. It is possible that after this the situation may remain similar for the next six days. Talking about Tuesday, the winds blew from mixed directions. Their speed was also around 4 to 10 kilometers per hour. Now on 13th and 14th November the wind speed can be 2 to 8 kilometers per hour.
That’s why it’s starting to feel cold
Cold has started being felt in Delhi since Monday. In fact, after the first snowfall of the season in the mountains, now the cold is expected to increase in the country’s capital Delhi. After the advance of Western Disturbance, cold winds from the mountains will be able to reach Delhi. In such a situation, the temperature is expected to drop rapidly after November 18. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of Delhi will be 30 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be 17 degrees Celsius. Between 14 to 16 November, the maximum temperature can be 32 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 16 to 17 degrees.
