Jammu and Kashmir: After the encounter between the army and the terrorists in Khanyar area of Srinagar, security forces have started a cordon and search operation. As part of anti-terrorist operations, CASO started searching from midnight, under which more than a dozen houses in the area were evacuated from civilians. According to sources, there is information about 2-3 terrorists hiding in this area.
Attack on Rashtriya Rifles camp in Bandipora
There has been an increase in terrorist activity in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days. Earlier on Saturday (1 November 2024), terrorists attacked the camp of 14 Rashtriya Rifles in Bandipora, North Kashmir. The army immediately retaliated, after which the terrorists fled from there. The terrorists had fired on two migrant laborers in Budgam, after which the army started a siege to nab the terrorists.
The laborers who were shot at by the terrorists have been identified as Sufiyan and Usman. Both are residents of Uttar Pradesh. After the attack, both of them were admitted to the local hospital and at present their condition remains stable.
There has been a rise in terrorist attacks
Jammu and Kashmir has seen an increase in terrorist attacks in recent months. Recently, terrorists had attacked the tunnel construction site at Z-turn on Srinagar-Leh National Highway, in which seven people were killed. The attack took place when the workers and other employees were returning to their camp in Gund area of Ganderbal.
After this, on October 24, 2024, terrorists also shot and injured another laborer from Uttar Pradesh, Shubham Kumar, in Tral area of Pulwama district. On Monday (28 October 2024) morning, terrorists targeted an ambulance and opened fire on an army convoy in Akhnoor sector of Jammu region, following which Special Forces and NSG commandos conducted an operation in which one attacker was killed.
