Chhattisgarh News: President Draupadi Murmu said that developed Chhattisgarh will have a very important contribution in making India a developed nation by 2047. He said that good health of citizens is important for overall development. Today President Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya was addressing the third convocation of Smriti Health Sciences and AYUSH University. He awarded 33 gold medals to 25 students and the title of Super Specialist to 6 students.
The President said that good health helps in increasing the productivity and creativity of people. He expressed concern over the problem of sickle cell anemia in the tribal society. The President said that the Government of India is making efforts to eradicate sickle cell anemia. He said that health workers are in the front line. You can make common people aware about health problems. Can inform common citizens about the efforts of the government. You can act as a bridge between the policy makers and the respectable public.
Providing health facilities to villages is a challenge – President
He told the students that by going to rural areas they would be able to become aware of the real problems of a large population of the country. I want that all the students should be posted in the community health centers of the village from time to time. President Draupadi Murmu said that most of the people of Chhattisgarh live in villages. Providing proper health facilities to those people is a challenging task. In this context, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and AYUSH University has an important role. This university has been established to promote medical education, training and health in the state. Solving health problems is one of the major goals of this university.
President Murmu also said that it is a matter of happiness that along with modern medicine, AYUSH education is also given in the university and its affiliated colleges. Nursing courses are being offered in many colleges. Thus, this university is playing an important role in increasing the availability of health workers and providing quality health services in Chhattisgarh. Infectious diseases like malaria, filariasis and TB have still not been completely eradicated. The Government of India has moved forward to eliminate these diseases. He said that the convocation ceremony is a milestone in your life. This success is an important contribution of your talent, dedication and hard work as well as the support and guidance of your parents, family members and teachers.
He said that while planning for the future, keep in mind that society also has a contribution in your education. It is your duty to return to the society the investment that it has made in your education. Draupadi Murmu said that you have a better understanding of local problems. You should research the health problems of the state and try to find solutions. The President expressed happiness at coming to the university established in the name of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, one of the great nationalist thinkers and respected figures of Indian politics. He said that he is very proud to say that most of the degree recipients are our daughters.
This demonstration underlines the supremacy of daughters. The President said that during his two-day stay in Chhattisgarh, I got the opportunity to address the students of two engineering and two medical institutions. During this time, I felt the enthusiasm among the students and researchers. A glimpse of my India is visible in such youth and the new India is moving forward strongly to get its rightful place in the world. Congratulating the students and parents, Governor Ramen Deka said that this day is a symbol of tireless efforts, sacrifice and dedication. He said that this is not only an academic achievement for the students but also an excellent beginning on the path of human service.
The journey of becoming a doctor is difficult – Governor
Governor Deka said the journey to becoming a physician is arduous, with students spending countless hours of late-night studying, clinical training and lab work. He said that for the students, the field of medicine is not defined only by knowledge and skills, but by honesty, empathy and commitment towards the welfare of others. He said that the field of medicine is constantly evolving, which includes many challenges such as new diseases, health disparities and technological changes. The Governor told the students that challenges provide opportunities for innovation and improvement in the field of medicine. He said that as doctors, we will have to face such moments when patients will not be able to recover despite their tireless efforts.

He said that to be successful in this medical profession, it is necessary to maintain humility and perform one’s duties with true devotion towards the service of humanity. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai also addressed the convocation ceremony. He congratulated 33 meritorious students for getting gold medals and 6 students for getting super specialty degrees. Said that the field of medicine is a symbol of service to humanity. All the graduating students were advised to fulfill their responsibilities towards society and country with a spirit of service.
Education in traditional medical systems also-CM
The Chief Minister also mentioned the increasing popularity of traditional medical systems like Ayurveda, Unani and Homeopathy. Expressing happiness, he said that the university is providing education in these methods also. Referring to the message of Antyodaya of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Chief Minister Sai said that the naming of this university inspires his principles and providing service to every section of the society. He described the Institute of Epidemiology, Science, Disease Control and Research and the Teachers Training Institute as milestones in the medical field of the country. Vice Chancellor of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Health Sciences and AYUSH University, Pradeep Kumar Patra presented the progress report of the institute. The Vice Chancellor presented mementoes and shawls to all the guests.
