Bengaluru Prison Radicalization Case: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids on Tuesday (March 5, 2024) at 17 different locations in 7 states of the country including Bengaluru city of Karnataka. According to news agency Asian News International (ANI), this search was conducted by NIA in the Bengaluru Prison Radicalization Case.
Meanwhile, sources told ABP News correspondent that this raid of NIA took place at many places in Bengaluru, while the investigating agency is also engaged in the investigation of the case related to the blast in Rameshwaram Cafe. This is also happening there in connection with the Raid Cafe blast. NIA’s search operation is going on at a total of 17 locations.

What is Bengaluru Prison Radicalization Case?
This entire matter is related to radicalization of prisoners in Bengaluru jail by terrorists of Pakistan’s terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Bengaluru Police had registered a case on July 7, 2023 after the seizure of ammunition including 7 pistols, 4 hand grenades and 1 magazine. Initially 5 people were arrested and after interrogation, 1 more arrest was made. That means 6 arrests were made in this case.
NIA took over the case in 2013, LeT terrorist is the accused
Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist T. Nasir is an accused in this case along with Junaid Ahmed. Nasir had radicalized 5 people in Bengaluru Central Jail. At present Junaid Ahmed is absconding. The NIA took over the case in October 2023 and then conducted searches at several places including Junaid Ahmed’s house.
10 were injured in Rameshwaram cafe blast
At the same time, NIA is also investigating the bomb blast case that took place in a famous cafe in Bengaluru. Sources had said on Monday that the investigation has been handed over to the NIA. There was an explosion at Rameshwaram Cafe in Brookfield, East Bengaluru on March 1, in which at least 10 people were injured.
