Opposition is not able to create issue against Modi government, BJP’s biggest strength for 2024

Only 10 months are left in the political battle to gain power in the country. In such a situation, along with the ruling party BJP, all the opposition parties including Congress are also busy in formulating their strategy and giving it a real shape. In view of the stature of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the nationwide strength of the BJP, the effort for unity among the opposition parties is also going on.

In the midst of all this, political agitation is also being seen in different states. Right now there is a big earthquake in the politics of Maharashtra. NCP President Sharad Pawar, who has been trying to unite opposition parties for the past several months, is struggling to save his own party after the rebellion of his nephew Ajit Pawar.

On the other hand, after the CBI made Tejashwi Yadav an accused in the land-for-job case, there is speculation that all is not well between Bihar Chief Minister and JDU leader Nitish Kumar and RJD, who are busy giving edge to the campaign of opposition unity. On the other hand, there is not much activism from the Congress side regarding the mobilization of opposition parties against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Whether or not a strong opposition alliance will be formed against the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be decided in the future, but one thing is certain that the hands of the opposition parties along with the Congress seem to be tight regarding the election issues. Any election is won on the basis of issues and the atmosphere created through those issues. Even in that, when it comes to the Lok Sabha elections, then from this point of view, the importance of nationwide election issues increases a lot. This is the point where all the opposition parties including the Congress are currently lagging far behind the BJP.

Simply put, the opposition is not able to create such an election issue against the Narendra Modi government, which can be used as a weapon to defeat the BJP, and this aspect is going to prove to be the biggest strength of the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

It is not that there is a lack of issues for the opposition parties, but the lack of ability to fight continuously on those issues and the strategy to take them to the public is definitely visible in the opposition parties. BJP is seen far ahead of the opposition in crafting issues and taking them to the public.

It would hardly be forgotten that before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, how BJP made inflation and corruption an issue. Based on these, the BJP defeated the Congress-led UPA government in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. The atmosphere created by the BJP at that time through corruption and rising inflation had a big hand in it, due to which the BJP managed to win a majority in the Lok Sabha for the first time in 2014 by declaring Narendra Modi as the face of the Prime Minister. Was. After that new chapters were continuously added in the political book of BJP. Even in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition had failed to create an election issue against the Narendra Modi government and through it, the BJP got a bigger victory than in 2014.

Now that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are round the corner, neither the Congress nor any other opposition party has been able to make inflation or corruption an issue among the public for a long time. Lack of seriousness can also be felt in the kind of struggle required to make an issue.

It is also not that inflation and corruption are no longer an issue. We are seeing how the prices of goods related to daily needs are on fire. The prices of petrol and diesel have got a new height in the last few years. What the common man had to spend for the kitchen of the house 8-9 years ago, now he has to spend double to thrice, whereas the per capita income among the poor and middle class people is increasing at that rate. Has not happened. Corruption also exists in different ways and forms.

It means to say that inflation and corruption are still a big issue, but they are not getting much time and importance in political and media discussions. There is a big reason for this that the opposition is not able to reach these issues to the public and it is not even seen to be struggling continuously to do so.

There is no dearth of issues. Apart from inflation, corruption, the issue of unemployment also exists. Alam is that the unemployment rate has reached 8.45% in the month of June. According to the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), this figure was 7.68% in May. This is the third time when the unemployment rate went above 8% this year. The unemployment rate was higher in villages than in cities. The unemployment rate in villages has been the highest seen in two years. These are figures, in reality people in India are facing the brunt of unemployment much more than this. For the last few years, there is a terrible situation in the country on the unemployment front, hardly any economic expert can deny this fact. This is such an issue, due to which the poor and middle class people of the country are facing the most.

Similarly, under poverty, economic inequality, the growing gap between rich and poor, lack of better medical facilities for common people from rural to urban areas or the burden of huge amount for it, better and quality education becoming increasingly expensive, Growing hatred among people on religious grounds..these are some of the issues that most of the citizens of the country often face.

However, none of these is such an issue, on which the leaders of all the opposition parties, including the Congress, have been continuously talking to the public. Even though the opposition parties try to besiege the Narendra Modi government by raising different issues for a few days, but to make them a countrywide election issue, the opposition’s continuous struggle from the villages to the streets, or should it be said, lasts for months. The struggle is not visible.

Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has definitely been trying to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the past few months regarding Hindenburg’s revelations on the Adani Group. However, this is such an issue, to understand which it is necessary to understand the economics and mathematics of the market. Perhaps this is the reason why this issue could not be transformed into a nationwide issue among those people, whose number is more to go to the polling booths.

Similarly, the opposition parties have been raising the issue of misuse of central investigative agencies like CBI and Enforcement Directorate ie ED. There has also been an allegation of these parties that by showing the fear of central investigative agencies, BJP also works to carry out activities of sabotage in opposition parties. But even this issue has not been able to dominate the common people in that way because the issue of misuse of investigative agencies is not a new one. The party which has been in government at the center has been facing such allegations and it has not been a major election issue for the people of the country. Even when any kind of action is taken on the leaders by the investigating agency, then under the kind of concept that has already been formed, only a kind of positive attitude is seen among the common people regarding those actions.

All opposition parties, including the Congress, have been continuously alleging that the Narendra Modi government and the BJP influence the mainstream media in their own way. However, the opposition should not forget that today’s era is the era of social media and in this, if you continuously fight on the streets, no one can stop it from reaching the common people, provided your struggle is continuous.

It is also a fact that most of the time of the opposition party and its top leadership is spent in dealing with the internal troubles of the party rather than laying siege against the Narendra Modi government. This is also a big reason why the opposition parties are not able to maintain any issue as a nationwide issue for a long time. The big leaders of all the opposition parties, including the Congress, do not even see the eagerness to continuously agitate and struggle for the issues related to public concern.

Unlike the opposition, the BJP is far ahead in raising issues. We have seen that whether it is the issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya or Article 370 under Hindutva, how BJP has gradually succeeded in creating an atmosphere in its favor by making it a major election issue nationwide. Right now the issue of Uniform Civil Code is similar. The kind of atmosphere that seems to be being created, the issue of Uniform Civil Code has become of majority versus minority. Many political analysts believe that as the dates of the Lok Sabha elections draw near, the Uniform Civil Code will become a bigger election issue and this will help in the polarization of votes. If this happens then it is known to all that which party will get maximum benefit from it.

In the same way, before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, BJP will have another strong issue, due to which the party’s claim to form the government for the third consecutive time under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi can get a lot of strength. This is such an issue, in front of which all the allegations and issues of the opposition can prove to be dwarf. We all know that in January next year, a grand Ram temple will be ready in Ayodhya and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this temple. BJP will leave no stone unturned to make this moment historic and golden, this is also certain.

This will be the time when the atmosphere of Lok Sabha elections will prevail in the whole country because the next Lok Sabha elections are to be held in April-May 2024 only. It is also not hidden from anyone that after this, what kind of election atmosphere will be created in the country and it will be a new height for BJP’s Hindutva card and it will be a very difficult task for the opposition to counter it. It can be said that raising any other issue against this would be a herculean task for the opposition like looking at the stars during the day.

The BJP has another issue for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, finding a solution to which is proving to be a chore for the opposition. BJP has a face like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, due to which the party got a huge victory in the last two Lok Sabha elections and in 2024 also the party is considering it as its strongest side. On the other hand, neither the Congress nor any face of the opposition has come to the fore in view of the possibilities of the opposition alliance. Looking at the attitude of all the opposition parties, including the Congress, it can also be said that there is not even a remote possibility of the opposition announcing any acceptable face against Narendra Modi before the elections.
