BEST Buses News: Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) officials on Thursday said WEST has banned people from talking loudly on mobile phones and accessing audio/video on mobile devices without headphones while traveling in its buses. .
BEST took the decision after passengers’ complaints
A BEST spokesperson said the decision has been taken to avoid inconvenience to co-travellers. He said that the passengers were repeatedly complaining about their co-passengers ringing the phone loudly, on which BEST has taken this decision and has issued a notification in this regard on April 24.
Now have to use headphones
Under the rule, passengers will now have to use headphones while listening to video-audio on their mobiles while traveling in BEST buses. Explain that BEST is a public transport service for Mumbai and neighboring cities. BEST spokesperson said that since BEST is a public transport service, the decision has been taken under Section 38/112 of the Bombay Police Act to avoid any inconvenience to passengers. Officials said that all concerned departments have been asked to display notifications in this regard in all buses.
30 lakh passengers travel in BEST buses every day
Officials said that all private and government employees working in BEST buses will also be informed about this notification. BEST has a fleet of 3400 buses. BEST provides bus services to Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Mira-Bhayander. More than 30 lakh passengers travel daily in BEST buses.
