‘Difficult to associate with someone who spreads terror’, Jaishankar bluntly told Pakistan before Bilawal’s visit

S Jaishankar on Pakistan: The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting is going to be held in New Delhi next month. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto is also reaching in this. He will also face the Indian Foreign Minister in this meeting. But here his pulse is not going to melt in front of the Foreign Minister of India. Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, who went on a tour of Panama, has made it clear to Pakistan that in order to improve relations, Pakistan will have to stop cross-border terrorism.

Pakistan, which is facing financial crisis, is desperate to improve its relations with India. This is the reason why Bilawal is coming to attend the SCO meeting. His uncle Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has already said that Pakistan has learned its lesson. Bilawal Bhutto is going to bring great hopes from this tour, but before that, Jaishankar has conveyed India’s message that both terrorism and talks cannot go together.

It is difficult to associate with those who spread terrorism.

Speaking to reporters in Panama, Jaishankar said, “It is very difficult for us to engage with a neighbor who perpetrates cross-border terrorism against us. We have always said that they should be punished for encouraging, sponsoring and carrying out cross-border terrorism.” The commitment not to execute has to be met. We hope that one day we will reach that point.”

Army truck attacked only last week

This comment of Jaishankar is also considered important in the context of the barbaric terrorist attack in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir last week. 5 army soldiers were killed in the attack on army truck in Poonch.

It was revealed in the Poonch attack that Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba was behind it. Also, this attack happened only a few hours after the announcement of Pakistan, in which it told that Bilawal Bhutto will lead the delegation going to India for the SCO summit to be held in May.

Pakistan should end terrorism

Jaishankar has repeatedly accused Pakistan of being involved in terrorist activities and providing safe havens to various terrorist organizations. India has always desired normal neighborly relations with Pakistan in keeping with its ‘neighbourhood first policy’. India has made it clear that an environment free from terrorism and violence is necessary to resolve disputes between the two countries and it is the responsibility of Pakistan to create such an environment.
