CBI Files Chargsheet Against Mallya: Central Investigation Agency CBI has made a shocking claim on India’s fugitive businessman Vijay Mallya. Mallya had bought properties worth Rs 330 crore in England and France during 2015-16 when his Kingfisher Airlines was facing cash crunch, the CBI told the court.

Mallya is an accused in the IDBI Bank-Kingfisher Airlines loan fraud case of over Rs 900 crore, which is being probed by the CBI. The probe agency has named 11 accused in its supplementary charge sheet and also added the name of Buddhadeb Dasgupta.
Dasgupta conspired with Mallya
According to the CBI, Dasgupta allegedly abused his official position in the matter of clearance and disbursement of Rs 150 crore STL in October 2009 and Conspired with the officials of IDBI Bank and Vijay Mallya.
Why did Mallya’s lawyer recuse himself from the case?
He has not been talking to him for a long time, the lawyer of businessman Vijay Mallya, who is facing extradition, told the Supreme Court. . He requested the court to release him from representing Mallya in this case.
Justice D.Y. Chandrachud and Hima Kohli asked the lawyer to give Mallya’s email address and UK residence to the court’s registry. The lawyer said that he wanted to get rid of Mallya’s case, as he was not getting any response from Mallya.
Court imposes fine on Mallya
The bench said that Mallya has never had any remorse for his conduct. He didn’t apologize. The court imposed a four-month sentence and a fine of Rs 2,000 on him. It states that if the fine amount is not deposited within the stipulated time, then Mallya will have to undergo two more months of imprisonment.
