Kanpur Fire News: In a mattress manufacturing factory in Rania industrial area of Kanpur Dehat, work was being done at double the speed in view of Diwali. Diwali was near, due to which the factory owner had also searched for some workers in view of the demand for workers to earn more profit. At the same time, 11 workers who returned home from Gujarat were looking for work somewhere near their home. Therefore, everyone started working in the factory. But all the workers became victims of an accident here and 6 workers died.
All 11 workers joined the factory on the first day itself in the night shift. Then in the morning, a fire broke out in the factory. All these workers were making mattresses inside the factory. There were only three security guards outside the factory. The fire broke out amidst a loud explosion and within a moment, the flames of the fire started touching the sky and the cries of all the workers trapped inside could be heard outside.
Why did the factory catch fire?
According to a worker working in the factory, the factory owner wanted to make more profit during Diwali. Due to which, work was being done day and night in the factory. The machines were running 24 hours and due to heat, the machine caught fire and there was a big explosion which led to this fire incident.
Only 7 workers were found burnt in the fire
It was clear that 11 workers were inside the factory. But the rescue team found only 7 workers burnt in the fire. Rescue operations were being conducted to find more workers trapped inside. Due to the fire and explosion, a large part of the factory fell on the workers from the roof, in which some workers were buried. But in the rescue operation that continued till around 2 am, 3 more bodies were recovered. It was not possible to identify them.
The dead will be identified through DNA report
According to the officials, they will be identified only through DNA report. Now the big question is that after the three workers went missing, these bodies reached the three families. But it remains a problem to find out which body belongs to whom. Manoj, Lavkush and Priyanshu, these three workers cannot be identified due to being buried under the rubble and being badly burnt. Regarding this incident, the police and administration are also investigating whether there were proper arrangements for extinguishing the fire here or not.
What did Area Officer Tanu Upadhyay say?
Akbarpur Area Officer Tanu Upadhyay said that the rescue operation was carried out till late night. There is no possibility of anyone else being trapped in the debris. The officer said that three bodies were recovered from the debris. They have been sent for post-mortem and two workers from Kanpur and Lucknow have died. They have not been identified yet. Now one more worker has died in the hospital. Now the death toll has reached 6 and the injured 4 workers are still fighting for their lives.
