MI vs RR: After losing the toss, Mumbai Indians scored 198 runs playing first. The start was not good for MI as both the team’s opening batsmen had returned to the pavilion at the score of just 6 runs. Ishan Kishan could not score any runs in this match, on the other hand Rohit Sharma scored 6 runs. Suryakumar Yadav’s magic also could not work in this match because Sandeep Sharma dismissed him at the score of 10 runs. By the time 52 runs were scored, Mumbai had lost 4 wickets, but from here a brilliant 99-run partnership between Nihal Wadhera and Tilak Verma brought Mumbai Indians back into the match. Vadhera played a brilliant inning of 49 runs in 24 balls, hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes.
At one time Mumbai Indians were playing at 101 runs for 4 wickets in 13 overs. From here the batsmen batted in stormy style. Although Nihal Vadhera was out in the 17th over, Tilak Verma was still continuing his half-century innings. After the 13th over, the team had scored 69 runs in the next 5 overs. It seemed as if Mumbai would easily cross the score of 200 runs but there was tight bowling from RR in the last 2 overs. In the first 19th over, Avesh Khan gave only 6 runs and in the last over, Sandeep Sharma gave 3 runs and along with taking 3 wickets, Mumbai was restricted to 179 runs.
Rajasthan Royals bowling
The bowlers of Rajasthan Royals had given trouble to the batsmen of Mumbai Indians in the beginning. Mumbai had lost the first 4 wickets within 52 runs. But Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal were also badly beaten in the middle overs. For RR, Sandeep Sharma took maximum 5 wickets and Trent Boult took 2 wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal has completed 200 wickets in his IPL career by taking the wicket of Mohammad Nabi in the same match, but he has also given away 48 runs in 4 overs. Apart from him, Avesh Khan also took an important wicket.
