33% women of the country do not invest, gold and FD is the first choice for savings


Women Do Not Invest Money at All : It is generally seen that women in India have a good habit of saving. On the other hand, some different things are coming out in the survey conducted by LXME in association with Axis My India. According to the survey, 33 percent of the women of the country do not pay any attention to investment. The first choice of other women is gold and fixed deposit (FD).

Today, be it IT sector, banking, accountancy, fashion, medical profession, media industries, women can be seen working in large numbers everywhere. Their participation in the same stock market and other types of investment is much less than that of men.

Let us tell you that in a survey conducted by LXME in association with Axis My India, it was found that 33 percent of women in India do not make any kind of investment. However, this figure has been 40 percent in the age group of 21 to 25. 55 percent of the women of the country do not have much knowledge about investment. Many women do only savings, their participation in investments is less. On the other hand, many women are not able to invest in companies due to big responsibilities just because they are engrossed in the concern of their home and children.

Gold and FD
Women invest in India, but they will most likely rely on investing in gold jewellery, fixed deposits (FDs) in banks, PPF, endowment policies. In this survey, 42 percent of women like to invest in gold jewelry. 35 percent of women say that they invest money in bank FDs. It is clear from this that they do nothing to protect money from the effects of inflation and create wealth.

Let us tell you that the returns from gold jewelery and bank FD investments do not exceed 5-6 per cent annually. At the same time, only shares are the only asset that has performed well compared to other asset classes.

Only 21 women out of 100
The participation of women in the Indian stock market is very low. Men have a greater share in this. The stock exchange of India is the sixth largest stock exchange in the world. According to sources, the participation of women is only 21 percent. Thus, out of every 100 investors in India, only 21 are women. In other emerging market countries of the world, this figure is much better than India. 34 percent in China, 33 percent in South Africa and 29 percent in Malaysia.
