Delhi News: Despite the ban in the capital Delhi, fireworks took place on Diwali night. In such circumstances, many people became victims of accidents. 280 cases of burn injuries due to firecrackers were reported in hospitals. Officials gave information on Friday. He said that the maximum number of 117 patients reached Safdarjung Hospital, which has the country’s largest burn unit, on Thursday. At second place, 48 cases of burn injuries were reported in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and 19 in Loknayak Jaiprakash Hospital.
According to hospital authorities, out of 280 patients, 102 had minor burns. 15 seriously burnt patients were admitted. He told that 20 patients were children below 12 years of age. According to the hospital administration, 86 cases were caused by firecrackers and 31 by lamps. Five people required surgery due to serious hand injuries caused by firecrackers. On October 30, a day before Diwali, 18 cases of burn injuries were reported in Safdarjung Hospital. Nine patients were admitted.

Nine people were treated for minor burns. Professor Dr. Reema Dada, in-charge of the media cell of AIIMS, said that 48 cases were registered in the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery from 7 pm on Diwali to 7 am on November 1. The number of burn cases due to firecrackers stood at 32. Of the 48 patients, 27 suffered severe burns while 21 suffered minor injuries. 19 patients were shifted to ICU, out of which the condition of 11 is critical.
Dr. Dada said that patients have cited other reasons for burns other than firecrackers. 35 cases are in Delhi, eight in the National Capital Region (NCR) and five from outside NCR. Eye injuries were also a matter of concern this Diwali. AIIMS’s RP Ophthalmology Center recorded 50 cases of eye injuries on October 31 and an additional 30 cases till November 1. 19 burn-related cases were treated at Delhi Government’s largest Loknayak Jaiprakash Hospital. An incident of burning had come to light during Diwali celebrations.
